Satsang | Awakening to the Heart

Satsang with Norman Scrimshaw

An Invitation to Touch the Silence Within and Discover Your True Nature

Satsang is approximately 90 minutes, beginning with singing bowl or brief Kirtan,
followed by silent meditation, dharma talk and heart wisdom dialogue.

Inspired by the teachings of
Adyashanti, Ramana Maharshi,
Nisargadatta, and Mooji,
from the Zen and Advaita traditions.

What is Satsang?

Our gatherings are called Satsang. For me Satsang is "The Home of the heart". It is an invitation to let go of who you think you are in your thoughts and begin to touch, feel, and live from the essence of your being which is a wide open heart. Jnana Yoga (Yoga of Wisdom) and Bhakti Yoga (Yoga of Love and Devotion) can meet as one in Satsang.

Satsang is a Sanskrit word which means "gathering together in truth" or "being with the truth." In Satsang, we gather together to inquire into our True Nature and to awaken our heart.

As we let go of our beliefs, and the attention on thoughts, judgment and fear, and rest simply as awareness itself we are able to experience the peace that emerges from silence—the silence which has always been there. We then can discover the essence and beauty of our True Nature and begin to embody its truth into our lives.

If one comes into Satsang… be quiet, still…in the presence of the Self. The holy one. You are that. In Satsang there may be kirtans where you chant together, silence where you do nothing, just sit. Questions once in a while. This is what Satsang is all about… what Satsang does, it opens your heart, totally and completely, absolutely.  ~ Robert Adams
