Way of the Labyrinth Workshop - Walking the Sacred Path

“All Who Wander Are Not Lost”

Labyrinths have long been used as powerful tools for prayer and meditation. A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It can be used to represent a journey to our own center and back again out into the world with a broader understanding of who we are and why we are here. Labyrinths are often used for spiritual/emotional growth, meditation, relaxation, and healing.

The Way of the Labyrinth Workshop
is for beginning or experienced labyrinth walkers alike. Join us for this experiential introduction to the labyrinth, its history, and ways for people to incorporate them into their own personal spiritual/healing journey. Come walk and offer blessings for our 40-foot, 7 circuit Metta Labyrinth at Sandwich Mountain Sanctuary!

Labyrinth Workshop includes:

  • Brief history of the labyrinth and it's use in various cultures
  • Symbolism and associations
  • Labyrinth Etiquette
  • Different ways to use the labyrinth for spiritual/emotional growth, meditation, relaxation and healing.
  • Labyrinth walking experience
  • Group sharing for even greater wisdom and insight.
  • Resource handouts.

Please dress comfortably for walking and bring a journal or notebook.
(If it is raining, bring rain jacket, boots and umbrella)

Music & Mantra Meditation

Kirtan is a beautifully powerful community musical meditation practice of group singing/chanting sacred sounds. This mantra style of chant can quiet our busy minds and allow us to tune-in and become absorbed in the devotional energy created. These repeated refrains are drawn from many traditions. They lead us to the space behind the chatter and into the silent stillness of our hearts where we can re-establish our direct connection with The Divine. Kirtan is a co-creative practice typically done in a call-and-response format that is easy to follow and offers a powerful trance-formational experience, bringing us back into harmony with ourselves and all that is. Feel free to sing, clap, dance, or just relax and enjoy the vibrations!

"Kirtan is for all people. There are no experts, no beginners.
The practice itself is the teacher, guiding us to ourselves. With Kirtan, we create a temple inside the altar of our hearts, a place of refuge, a place of love, and a place of just being.
